As of 4:30pm on November 5th 2019, we have not had official word of a flavor ban. This could change any second.

There are certainly signs leading us to believe the recent (11/1/19) article in AXIOS about a federal flavor ban being announced this week. Industry stake holders from across the country have had their scheduled meetings with the Office of Management and Budget cancelled for the following reason: “OMB concluded review on 0910-ZA56 (Enforcement Priorities for Electronic Nicotine Delivery Systems (ENDS) and Other Deemed Products on the Market Without Premarket Authorization). Since the rule is no longer under review.”

Let’s stick to the facts, stay calm and keep our focus.

Fact #1: Only AXIOS has reported this story as far as we can tell. All of the news we’ve come across in regard to the announcement of the flavor ban is referring back to this one single source. As we know now, we always have to question sources, especially when they’re reporting on the vape industry.

Fact #2: In the AXIOS editorial they clearly state the following, “It’s possible Trump could change his mind at the last minute.”

We have received quite a few calls from our members asking for more information and asking for advice on what they should do if or when the flavor ban happens. Here’s what we can officially say about the current situation:

1. Remain calm. Fake News has had a field day with mass hysteria.
2. Examine the FACTS. Speculation is what causes the hysteria.
3. Remember we are on the side of the Truth. Science speaks for itself. We have to get scientific data to the right sources.
4. Take this time to contact legislators in your area. FSFA will provide you with talking points.
5. We will disseminate CONFIRMED information as we have it.
6. Remember, the purpose for FSFA is to provide lobby efforts to protect rights of vapor businesses in Florida while working with VTA on National efforts.
7. Go to Washington D.C. this Saturday to participate in the largest rally the industry has ever had. It’s now more important than ever. For more information about the rally click here.
